HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's hockey head coach Mark Hudak has announced the four players who will serve as captains for the 2015-16 season.
Current juniors Catherine Berghuis and Laura Stacey will act as captains throughout their final year with the Big Green. A native of Truro, Nova Scotia, Berghuis will trade the 'A' for 'C' after serving as alternate captain this past season. She appeared in all 30 games, scoring three goals and adding seven assists for 10 points.
Stacey, who hails from Kleinburg, Ontario, appeared in 26 games in 2014-15, netting nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points. For the third straight season, she led the Green in assists, while tying with two others for first in points. The All-Ivy Honorable Mention honoree was one of 22 players selected to Canada's National Women's Development Team and competed in a three-game series in Calgary in August.
Joining Berghuis and Stacey as the alternate captains are sophomores Kennedy Ottenbreit and Eleni Tebano, who will don the 'A' on their green and white jerseys throughout their junior season.
A native of Grayson, Saskatchewan, Ottenbreit played in all 30 games this season, scoring 13 goals and registering 13 assists. She ranked third on the team in helpers, was tied for first with 26 points and led the team with seven power-play markers.
Tebano, who is from Glastonbury, Connecticut, appeared in all 30 games as a sophomore, netting two goals and tallying 15 assists for 17 points. She was second among the Big Green in assists. After being named the team's Rookie of the Year last season, she was selected as the Defensive MVP this year.
Dartmouth wrapped up the 2014-15 season in the ECAC Quarterfinal against top-seeded and defending national champion Clarkson. The Green ultimately dropped both games.
