SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team plays host to Brown on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field in the final scheduled game of the 2015 regular season. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green dropped a pair of road games last weekend. The trip started with a one-goal defeat at Ivy League rival Yale, 8-7, on Saturday as Dartmouth was unable to complete its fevered second-half comeback bid. Monday afternoon saw the Green fall to No. 18 Albany in a non-conference tilt, 10-5.
SCOUTING BROWN
The Bears come to Hanover winners of their last two games, but are just 1-4 in Ivy League play, tied with Dartmouth and Columbia for sixth in the standings. Overall, the Bears are 7-6 thanks to early-season victories against Bryant, Iona, and Holy Cross, with the two most recent triumphs coming at the hands of Columbia and UMass Lowell. Junior Lauren Toy leads the team in both goals (25) and points (33), while sharing the team lead in assists with Janie Gion as they each have eight this season. In goal, Kellie Roddy has been the keeper of record in all 13 games and boasts an 8.66 goals against average and a .474 save percentage.
AGAINST THE BEARS
The Big Green have had a tremendous amount of success against Brown in recent years, winning the last six meetings between the two Ivy League programs. Last season's game featured a dramatic ending as senior Liz Calby scored with 14 seconds remaining in regulation to give the visitors the 10-9 victory. For Calby, the goal was her fourth of the day and her sixth point as she and her teammates stormed back from a 5-0 first-half deficit for the league win.
FANTASTIC FRANCES
Against Albany, senior captain Frances Bird had herself a career day, setting a new personal mark with five draw controls. That single-game mark pushed her over 50 for her career as she now has 52 in her four seasons in Hanover. She also had two ground balls and three caused turnovers in the contest with the Great Danes, both of which were team highs.
SENIOR DAY
Following Saturday's game with the Bears, head coach Amy Patton and her staff will recognize the accomplishments of seven members of the team's Class of 2015: Frances Bird, Sarah Byrne, Sydney Ellis, Jessica Frieder, Christine Lushefski, Samantha Schiff and Jessica Venturino.
TWO A GAME… PRETTY MUCH
In all but one game this season junior Jaclyn Leto has netted at least a pair of goals for the Big Green. She continued that trend over the short road trip with five of the team's seven goals in the loss at Yale before adding a pair in Albany two days later. Leto leads the team with 37 tallies and has scored at least twice in every game this season except the Princeton home game on Mar. 7 in which she was held pointless for the first time since a Mar. 1, 2014 home game against the Bulldogs.
103 DRAWS
With her second and final draw control of the game in New Haven on Saturday, Sarah Byrne became the sixth player in Dartmouth history to go over 100 for her career. Another three Monday in Albany moved her alone into fifth in the program's record books, passing Kristen Barry '08, who finished her career with exactly 100 draws.
HONORARY CAPTAINS
In addition to Bird — who has served as the team's lone captain this season — head coach Amy Patton has announced that both Frieder and Leto will serve as the Big Green's honorary captains Saturday against Brown.
FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT
Throughout Saturday's game with the Bears, Dartmouth Athletics will be giving out free t-shirts. A number of fans will receive gift cards to Morano Gelato and Ramunto's Brick & Brew, and one lucky fan will win a $100 gift card to J. Crew.
