Last Tune Up Outside of Ivy
• Dartmouth welcomes second-year program Pine Manor to Leede Arena on Saturday afternoon in the final non-conference game for the Big Green this season.
• This past Tuesday, Dartmouth avenged last year's CIT loss (its first postseason appearance in 56 years) by defeating Canisius, 80-69.
• Evan Boudreaux once again led the Big Green with 19 points and six rebounds against the Golden Griffins. The freshman has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week five times, and led the team in scoring and rebounding seven and nine times respectively.
• Miles Wright, who had 14 points on Tuesday, not only leads the team with 27 three-pointers, but has also averaged 19.2 points at home this year.
• Senior Kevin Crescenzi tallied a season-high 13 points, giving him consecutive games in double figures (11 at Harvard) for the first time in his career.
• The offense, which shot a season-best 53.5 percent from the floor against Canisius, has picked up of late, averaging nearly 75 points in the last five contests.
• Dartmouth converted 28-of-35 free throws as a team, its most makes at the line in nearly 16 years.
• Two areas in which the Big Green have excelled this year are turnover margin and offensive rebounding. They lead the league with a plus-1.6 turnover margin and are second with 11.8 offensive boards a night.
Series vs. Pine Manor
• This is the first time these two schools have met in any sport.
• This is the fifth game against a school outside of Division I since Paul Cormier returned to Hanover in 2010-11. The Green have won the first four by an average margin of more than 32 points.
• Over his two stints at Dartmouth, Cormier is 12-3 against non-Division I teams with the three losses coming against Division II teams, the last an FIU squad in 1986-87 that was two years away from moving up to Division I.
• Dartmouth has won its last nine games against non-Division I schools with the last loss a 50-48 defensive battle at Hawaii-Hilo on Nov. 28, 2003.
• The first men admitted to Pine Manor was in September of 2014 when the school went coed.
Scouting the Gators
• Pine Manor, a Division III independent which has a roster consisting of just freshmen and sophomores, just ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Green Mountain on Tuesday night, 112-103, before drubbing Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Thursday, 118-54.
• The Gators love to get up and down the floor and have not failed to score at least 74 points in each of their 16 games while averaging 87.8 ppg.
• No less than four players average in double figures (though one has missed six games), led by Taverick Roberson at 18.3 ppg while shooting 44.4 percent from the floor.
• As a team, Pine Manor is shooting 32.0 percent from long range, but that figure has not discouraged them from attempting nearly 26 long balls a game.
• Roberson and Chancie Williams are the two most likely to shoot from deep, hitting 71 of their 196 attempts (.362).
• As you might guess, an up-tempo team will apply heavy defensive pressure as its more than 10 steals and 19 turnovers caused per game attest.
• If you have a game program, pay no attention to the coaches listed there. The real head coach is Rich Fazzi (Becker '04), who led the Gators to a 10-10 record last year in their inaugural season. Fazzi set the career record for field goal percentage at his alma mater and was a two-time captain.

Boudreaux Boudreaux Golly!
Freshman Evan Boudreaux has led Dartmouth in scoring in seven of the first 14 games, and in rebounding nine times to date, including his 19-point, six-rebound performance in the 80-69 victory over Canisius on Jan. 12. His scoring average of 15.1 ppg would be the second-highest ever for a Big Green freshman, behind only Dartmouth legend Ed Leede, who tallied 16.5 ppg in a 14-game schedule in 1944-45. And only five Ivy League freshmen have ever averaged more in a season, led by Brown's Earl Hunt in 1999-2000 (17.0).
The Hot Hand Exists
Well, it did for Dartmouth on Jan. 12 against Canisius. The Big Green knocked down a season-best 53.5 percent (23-of-43) of their field goals — including a whopping 61.9 percent (13-of-21) in the second half — just the second time they have topped 50 percent this season. Not surprisingly, they have won both of those games (Longwood on Dec. 22).
Free Points
Dartmouth played aggressively against Canisius, as demonstrated by the free throw numbers as the Big Green attempted 35 foul shots and made 28 (80 percent). The last time Dartmouth made that many free throws was on Feb. 19, 2000 in a 92-87 victory over Brown when the Green sank 31-of-38. Greg Buth converted all 14 of his attempts that night.
Crescenzi Crescendo
After scoring in double figures for the first time this season with 11 points at Harvard on Jan. 9, senior Kevin Crescenzi topped that with 13 more in the win over Canisius three days later. It was the first time in his career that he had 10 or more points in consecutive games, and he has now tallied in double figures a total of nine times in his career.
The Countdown is at 35
Senior Connor Boehm scored right at his season average with 11 points against Canisius on Jan. 12, leaving him just 35 points shy of becoming the 28th player in program history to score 1,000 in a career. He was also 5-of-7 from the floor, keeping his career field goal percentage above 50 percent, a mark only seven others have attained, led by Brian Burke '84 at 57.2.
