SUNDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's soccer team continues its opening weekend when the Big Green host Iona at Burnham Field at 1 p.m.
SCOUTING THE GAELS
Iona comes into Hanover after dropping its first three games of the 2016 season. The Gaels suffered a 3-1 loss to Holy Cross in Worcester before falling to Bryant on the road, 2-0. Iona dropped a 4-0 decision to Columbia at home on Friday in the team's home opener. The Gaels were tabbed to finish 10th in the 11-member Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason poll after finishing 10th last season.
LAST TIME OUT
On Friday, Dartmouth won its home opener defeating Marist 1-0 in two overtimes. Freshman Alyssa Neuberger had the lone tally of the contest for her first career goal.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Sunday's contest will be the first time Dartmouth and Iona will meet on the pitch.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN
The Green and White are led by Holly Patterson and Hayley Snyder, who are both entering their final seasons in Hanover. Last year, Patterson started in all 13 games played and took 13 shots. As a junior, Snyder started 15 games and took four shots.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Dartmouth will return its starting goaltender, Casey Cousineau who started all 14 games she played in last season. The Altadena, California native made 51 saves, the fifth most of any keeper in the Ivy League.
CLASS OF 2020
In addition to the returning players, seven freshmen will make their collegiate debut. Joining the Big Green this season are Zoe Boocock, Charlotte Esty, Zoe Enright, Hayley Soriano, Lorna McElrath, Mollie McGorisk and Neuberger.
