THIS WEEKEND'S GAMES
After splitting last weekend's road trip, the Dartmouth women's soccer team hosts Central Michigan on Friday night before welcoming Fairleigh Dickinson to Burnham Field on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan is off to a hot start in 2016 with a 5-0 record. Most recently, the Chippewas are coming off a successful homestand with a 3-1 victory over Youngstown State and a 2-0 shutout win over Kansas State. As a team, Central Michigan has found the back of the net 12 times this season. Sophomore Alexis Pelafas has seven of those goals and leads the team with 15 points. In goal, Kristen Knutson has been solid with 12 saves and a 0.42 goals-against-average.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
After opening the season with a 3-2 overtime win at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Fairleigh Dickinson has lost three straight. Recently, the Knights fell in a close 3-2 contest at Hartford on Sept. 4. Sophomore Elma Kolenovic will be a player to watch, as she has a team-leading four goals and 10 points. Not far behind Kolenovic is sophomore Jessi Reinhardt, who has two goals and has taken a team-high 17 shots.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
This will be the first time that Dartmouth has met the Chippewas or Fairleigh Dickinson on the pitch in school history.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off of a 2-0 win over Gardner-Webb in the Deacon Challenge Tournament. Freshman Charlotte Esty scored the eventual game winner early in the second half, before Zoe Enright added an insurance goal in the 81st minute.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN
The Green and White are led by Holly Patterson and Hayley Snyder, who are both entering their final seasons in Hanover. Last year, Patterson started in all 13 games played and took 13 shots. As a junior, Snyder started 15 games and took four shots.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Dartmouth will return its starting goaltender, Casey Cousineau who started all 14 games she played in last season. The Altadena, California native made 51 saves, the fifth most of any keeper in the Ivy League.
GETTING OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT
The Big Green's freshmen have been solid contributors on the offensive side of the ball in the early going of the 2016 season. Esty leads the team with two goals, while Enright and Alyssa Neuberger each have one goal apiece.
