HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's lacrosse head coach
Danielle Spencer has announced the team's regular season schedule for the upcoming 2019 season.
Â
The Big Green will play 15 regular season contests this spring, with eight at home on Scully-Fahey Field in Hanover.Â
Â
The year begins with four games in February, more than any other season in program history. It won't be an easy road to start the season, either, as Dartmouth opens at national power and Spencer's alma mater Northwestern on Friday, Feb. 15 (8 p.m. ET) and will be played at the Wildcats' new indoor facility. Just two days later, the Big Green will head to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan in a game set for noon. The following weekend will see the team cap the three-game season-opening road swing at Binghamton (Feb. 24).
Â
The home opener comes against the defending national runner-up as Boston College comes to town (Feb. 26). The Eagles also mark the first of four straight at Scully-Fahey for Dartmouth.
Â
Brown (March 2) is the second game in the homestand and also marks the 2019 Ivy League opener as the conference slate has been shaken up. UConn (March 6) is the last game before an 11-day break for exams. UMass (March 17) comes to the Upper Valley to end the mid-season hiatus, while Hofstra (March 26) is the last non-conference home game of 2019.
Â
Harvard (March 30), Princeton (April 6) and Cornell (April 20) all make their way to Hanover in the spring, while the Green and White will play Ivy League road games at Columbia (March 22), Penn (April 13) and Yale (April 27). In that stretch, only one non-conference road game is mixed in with the team heading up I-89 to take on Vermont (April 16).
Â
The Ivy League Tournament will take place at the home of the regular season champion on Friday, May 3, for the semifinals with the conference crown up for grabs on Sunday, May 5.
All home games will be carried live on ESPN+ as well as Ivy League road games. In total, at least 12 games will be streamed on ESPN+ this season. Subscriptions are just $4.99 a month and gives the buyer access to every live event on the network.
