Bourque & Carson Earn First Team All-Region Honors

HANOVER, N.H. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 128 student-athletes from across Division I honored with all-region recognition Friday afternoon.

Dartmouth sophomores Katie Bourque and Ellie Carson were each named to the All-Northeast Regional First Team for their efforts during the 2018 campaign.

This is the second time this season that the duo has been honored as both were named to the All-Ivy League First Team last week with Carson earning her conference honors unanimously.

Carson was recognized on the strength of her breakout season that saw the second-year attack lead the team in goals (51) and points (63). She became just the eighth player in program history to reach the half-century mark for tallies in a single season. She notched at least one goal in every game this season until an injury in the opening minutes of the Ivy League semifinal against Penn put an end to that streak. In all, the Alexandria, Virginia, native posted four games of five or more tallies, including a seven-goal game against UMass Lowell in the final home outing of the season.

Bourque was another conference first-team selection who also proved to be one of the best of the best in the region this season. She would finish the year third on the team in both goals (28) and points (40) thanks in large part to her four-goal, five-point game against the Quakers in the semifinals with Carson unable to play. The Ridgewood, New Jersey, native put forth the best goal-scoring effort of her career with the four markers in the game as Dartmouth nearly pulled off one of the most improbable comebacks in recent memory.
