ORLANDO – Recent Dartmouth graduate and Dartmouth men's hockey alternate captain
Corey Kalk '18 signed with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL the team announced Thursday afternoon.
Kalk finished his collegiate playing career with the Big Green in 2017-18 having played in 117 games, tied for 37th all-time in program history. In those games, the Ontario native amassed 70 points on 33 goals and 37 assists.
As a senior, Kalk was third on the team in scoring with 21 points on eight goals and 13 helpers.
There was no bigger goal scored all year by any member of the team than Kalk's third-period goal In Game 3 of the playoffs' opening round against St. Lawrence. Kalk collected the puck in his own end of the ice and took it the length of the sheet before depositing it into the back of the net for what proved to be the game- and series-winning goal in his final game played at Thompson Arena.
For the past five seasons, the Solar Bears had been the ECHL affiliate of Kalk's hometown Toronto Maple Leafs, but are set begin a new affiliation this season with a yet-to-be-announced team.
