LONG TIME NO SEE
Dartmouth returns from the holidays and travels to the big city to take on Manhattan for the first time since 2004. The Big Green are riding a hot start to the season and look to keep things rolling after two weeks off. The Jaspers come into the contest looking for their first home win of the season.
ESCAPING THE STAGS
- The Big Green trailed by 10 in the second half and outscored Fairfield, 14-2, in the final five minutes of the third quarter to win their first road game, 52-51.
- The Stags came up short on its last second shot and Dartmouth improved to 3-0.
- Dartmouth's defense was strong once again as Fairfield was held to 36.7 percent shooting and only one member of the team scored in double figures.
- Three Big Green players were in double figures.
- For the second straight game, Annie McKenna led the way with 14 points and dished out a season high six assists.
- Paula Lenart once again had a near double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds, while adding two steals and two assists.
- Asha Taylor posted a career high of 10 points, which included a momentum shifting three-point play in the third quarter, she also pulled down four rebounds.
- Despite being held to single digits for the first time this year, Anna Luce grabbed a career high 13 rebounds.
- After going 3-10 in its previous game against Merrimack, Dartmouth turned around and went 7-9 (77.8%) from the line against the Stags.
DOUBLE FIGURES
- We've known since before the season started that this team will not rely on just one or two players. Everyone will have to contribute.
- The Big Green have had at least three players score in double figures in every game so far this season.
- Annie McKenna and Paula Lenart have been consistent, recording 10 or more points in each game.
- Anna Luce put up 20 against Vermont and 12 versus Merrimack.
- Katie Douglas scored 10 against Vermont, while Asha Taylor stepped up and dropped 10 at Fairfield.
- Last season, the Big Green played 12 games where three or more players were in double figures.
GO TO PLAYER
- Paula Lenart has become a consistent offensive and defensive force for the Big Green.
- The senior has scored in double figures in each game this season, posting 13 against Vermont and 10 versus Merrimack and 10 at Fairfield.
- That is the longest streak of double-digit scoring games in Lenart's career.
- Lenart has been stout defensively as well, holding Vermont's Hanna Crymble to seven points and Merrimack's Denia Davis-Stewart to 13, which was 15 points below her average.
- It's early, but Lenart is averaging career highs in points and rebounds with 11 and eight.
PLAYING THE MATCHUPS
- Belle Koclanes, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball says that every member of the team will have to be ready to play based on how Dartmouth matches up with its opponents.
- Karina Mitchell got her chance at Fairfield with extended minutes at the point guard position.
- Mitchell sparked the 14-2 third-quarter run with her first collegiate points.
- She then hit a key 3-pointer to extend the Big Green lead to four points with just over four minutes remaining in the game.
- Mitchell finished with five points and two rebounds in 13 minutes against the Stags.
WINNING IN THE 50'S
- The Big Green are off to a 3-0 start mainly because of their defense.
- Dartmouth has not allowed an opponent to reach 60 points this season.
- Vermont scored the most points against the Big Green with just 55, Merrimack was held to 52 and Fairfield scored the least with 51.
- Through three games, Dartmouth has only allowed 158 points.
- That averages to 52.7 ppg, which is the second lowest average in the Ivy League, only Penn gives up less.
SMALL BUT MIGHTY
- Despite being outsized by most opponents, Dartmouth has won the battle on the boards in each game this season.
- Just like scoring, it has been a complete team effort when it comes to rebounding.
- Lenart leads the team with 8.0 rpg, while Anna Luce is second with 7.7 rpg and Elle Louie pulls down 6.7 rpg.
- The Big Green have grabbed 39 offensive rebounds and 88 defensive boards.
- As a total, Dartmouth has outrebounded opponents, 127-100, on the season.
SCOUTING MANHATTAN
- The Jaspers have had a rough start to their season with a 1-4 start, but all of their games have been close.
- Manhattan's lone victory of the season came at Fairleigh Dickinson when Courtney Warley made a last-second layup for a 62-61 win.
- Manhattan is averaging 57.0 ppg and is allowing 63.8 ppg, which is fourth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
- Emily LaPointe is the only member of the team averaging double figures with 10.0 ppg while grabbing 4.4 rpg.
- It's a balanced scoring attack after that with six others scoring at least five ppg.
- Warley is next with 9.2 ppg and leads the team with 6.8 rpg.
- Gabby Cajou (7.2 ppg), Julie Hoier (7.0 ppg) and Lynette Tait (6.8 ppg) are all key contributors for the Jaspers.

- Warley had eight points and five boards for Manhattan.
- The Jaspers shot just 30 percent from the field for the game.
