HANOVER, N.H. – For the second time in as many weeks, a member of the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week.
Â
Sophomore
Claire Marshall was honored as this week's recipient after helping the Big Green defense limit Columbia to just two goals in Friday's 21-2 victory in New York City. The 19-goal margin of victory was the most in an Ivy game in program history.
Â
Marshall's recognition comes on the heels of
Kathryn Giroux's honor last week. For Marshall, this was her first conference recognition.
Â
Against the Lions, Marshall had a game-high four ground balls, while also kicking in a draw control. She and her teammates held Columbia to just the pair of goals, the second-lowest total by any Ivy team this season. In doing so, they also held last week's top offensive player Lindsey Ewertsen without a point.
Â
Marshall and the rest of the Big Green are back in action Tuesday at home against Hofstra (3 p.m.) before playing host to Ivy foe Harvard on Saturday (2 p.m.).
