Dartmouthsports.com will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their fall seasons postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today's Senior … Avery Schuldt, a forward from Wilmette, Illinois, on the women's soccer team.
DartmouthSports.com: What is your most memorable on-field team moment?
Avery Schuldt: Some of the best soccer that our team has played was last year (the 2019 season) during the Pittsburg and Syracuse games. Nothing feels better than playing at speed, connecting passes, being creative on and off the ball, and getting a W at the end of the day. But my all-time favorite memory was senior day in the 2018 season. This was one of the most intense games of the season, we weren't just playing Harvard, but we were playing our last home game of the season and everyone wanted to finish with a win for our seniors. When the final whistle blew, and the scoreboard read 3-1, everyone ran on to the field. I loved seeing our seniors of the time so happy and we were able to end our season with a win.
DS: If you could swap places with one teammate who would it be?
AS: I would swap places with a freshman. I would kill to have another four years of soccer and four years at Dartmouth.
DS: What are your plans after Dartmouth?
AS: I recently decided to move to Boston after I graduate and work at Trinity Life Science Consulting. My original plan was to take a gap year in between undergrad and med school and I haven't completely ruled out med school, but I am excited to get started at Trinity.
DS: What is the best gift you have ever received?
AS: My pets! Both the dogs I have now, Olive and Chelsea, were a surprise. My parents surprised us with Olive one Christmas (about 8 years ago). They created this whole plan to sneak her into the house and have her waiting under the tree. It didn't go quite as planned but my sister and I were very surprised. Now each Christmas we have some hope that we will get another puppy!
DS: Other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life and why?
AS: My friends. At Dartmouth I have been lucky enough to surround myself with amazing people and spend literally every day with them. They have been with me through the many best days at Dartmouth and some of the harder ones.
