Leading up to the 2020 Dartmouth women's lacrosse home opener on Feb. 22 against Boston University, let's meet the nine members of the Class of 2020.
Â
Today's Senior… Sophia Turchetta.
Â
DartmouthSports.com: What is your favorite place on campus?
Sophia Turchetta: The HOP - I love the buff chicken quesadillas and I look forward to them every week.
Â
DS: If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why?
ST: I would have to say Polly. She's so good at art and I would love to see what a day in the mind of Polly is like.Â
Â
DS: What has been your best on-field memory thus far in your Dartmouth career?
ST: Beating Penn my junior year is one of my favorite on-field memories. It was such a beautiful day; we were on their home field and it was their senior day. We were the underdog and came back after being down at halftime. All Ivy games have a certain energy about them, but that day was especially crazy and fun. Â
Â
DS: How is Hanover different or similar to where you grew up?
ST: I grew up in a really small town in Massachusetts that has nothing going on. My high school was really small and my town in general is a bubble. Hanover is super similar to this as there are not that many stores or things going on, but that's what makes it special.Â
Â
DS: What are your post-Dartmouth plans?
ST: I am going to be working in New York City at Lunar Solar Group!
Â
DS: What is your hidden talent or something that someone might not know about you?
ST: I grew up playing boys lacrosse with my three older brothers because my dad coached their teams and he needed players. We didn't have a girls team until I was in 7th grade.Â
Â
DS: Do you have a nickname on your team? Who gave it to you and why?
ST: Most people just call me Soph.Â
Â
DS: What are you going to miss most about Dartmouth after you graduate?
ST: Being a part of a team and getting to hang out with 35 other people every single day who I love is definitely something I will miss a lot. The memories we share are irreplaceable and I know that we will all be life-long friends.Â
