HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth junior forward
Quin Foreman is one of 23 semifinalists of the 68th Walter Brown Award as announced by The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Monday afternoon.
Â
The award is presented annually to the top American-born Division I player in New England and is the oldest nationally recognized honor in college hockey.
Â
Foreman is the first Big Green player to be recognized as a semifinalist for the honor since Eric Robinson in 2015. Monday's announcement comes on the heels of Foreman's three-goal weekend on the road at RPI and Union.
Â
The Needham, Massachusetts, native scored in the final seconds of the first period Friday at Rensselaer before adding a pair of third-period goals in Dartmouth's comeback bid the following night down the road against the Dutchmen. His three goals were tied for the most in ECAC Hockey over the weekend of games.
Â
For the season, Foreman ranks second on the team in both points (20) and goals (10), while his 10 assists are tied for third. He has amassed those point totals all while being called for just eight penalty minutes in 22 games of action this season.
Â
On pace for his best season to date with the Big Green, Foreman has played in 89 career games, recording 67 points (31-36-67). His 31 career goals are tied with senior
Will Graber for most by an active player.
Â
Foreman is one of just three ECAC Hockey players on the list along with three from Friday's opponent, Harvard. Dartmouth and the Crimson will drop the puck at Thompson Arena in the lone game of the week for the home team at 8 p.m. following the women's team's contest with Colgate.
