THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth men's lacrosse team will be on the road again this weekend, heading to Burlington to face Vermont for the first time since the 2017 season.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
After being down by three in the first quarter, the Big Green went on a 12-goal run throughout the next 30 minutes, ultimately defeating UMass Lowell by a score of 14-5.
·     This was the first time Dartmouth has started a season 3-0 since 2006 and the first win over the River Hawks since 2017.
·    Â
Matt Paul had a career-high six points (5G, 1A) to lead the team. He is the first player in the Ivy League to score a man-down goal this season.
Tommy Rogan and
Harlan Smart both had three points, while six other players ended up with at least one.
·    Â
Daniel Hincks made 10 saves to earn his career-high third win.
George Christopher went in for the last five minutes and did not have to make any saves.
Â
LOOKING FORWARD
In the latest Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, Dartmouth was one of the teams receiving votes. This is the first time in at least a decade that the Big Green have appeared on that list.
Â
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
Vermont heads into its third of four straight home games with an overall record of 2-1. The Catamounts are on a two-game winning streak after defeating Merrimack (9-8) and Quinnipiac (16-7). Their one loss was a one-goal game at Holy Cross (10-9).
Â
Two players have made it to double-digit points: Thomas McConvey (7-6-13) and Rob Hudson (10-0-10).
Â
LAST TIME AGAINST VERMONT
Having played almost every year since 1989, the Big Green and the Catamounts took a little break and are meeting for the first time since 2017.
Â
On Feb. 28 that year, Dartmouth had an 11-9 victory over Vermont at Scully-Fahey Field. The team was led by five goals by Richie Loftus and five assists by Wiley Osborne. A rookie at the time,
George Christopher was huge in net, making a career-high 17 saves en route to picking up his first career win.
Â

Hincks has started all three games so far this season. In 174 minutes, he has made 38 saves for a .623 save percentage and 7.92 goals against average. Christopher made his first appearance of the year in the final 5:49 against UMass Lowell, allowing one goal while making zero saves.
