HANOVER, N.H. – Two-time captain
Christina Rombaut has signed with MAC Budapest of the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL).
The 2020 graduate was one of three players to join the team in the last month.
"I had the time of my life at Dartmouth and playing for the Big Green," Rombaut said, "but it's time to turn the page. It's the perfect time in my life to go to Europe to play professional hockey and see more of the world. I'm very fortunate to have been recruited by MAC Budapest, one of the top teams in the EWHL.
"Thank you to Lotti [Odnoga] for putting in a good word for me," Rombaut continued. "I'm looking forward to playing with many of her teammates from the Hungarian National Team. I am very excited for this new adventure."
Rombaut played 113 games throughout her four years in Hanover, not missing a single game during that time. The Rothesay, New Brunswick, native had four points (2-2-4) throughout her final season, half of which came from the win against Maine (11/30). She was named Academic All-Ivy her final two years at Dartmouth, and ended her career with 37 points (13-24-37).
"We are super excited for Christina," head coach
Laura Schuler said. "She is such an incredible person, athlete and leader. Her passion, untiring work ethic, dedication and commitment to excellence will make her a valuable addition to the MAC Budapest program. Congratulations, Christina. We will be cheering you on and wishing you the very best."
