CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Dartmouth women's rowing team competed at the 56th Head of the Charles Regatta over the weekend.
Â
First held on Oct. 16, 1965, the Head of the Charles is the largest regatta in the world and returned to Boston for the first time in two years after being canceled last year. Hundreds of thousands of fans turn out each time to watch more than 11,000 athletes representing over 800 schools and clubs.
Â
The regatta was canceled last year due to the pandemic, marking the first time it was called off since 1996 because of a severe storm. Because of that, the two-day event was expanded to three to allow more athletes to participate.
