NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dartmouth volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat (15-25, 25-22, 20-25, 22-25) at the hands of the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday.

Makenzie Arent had yet another double-double (19A, 12D), while
Emma Engstrom led with 26 assists and
Ellie Blain was first with 10 points.

Dartmouth (8-6, 0-5) vs. Yale (10-4, 3-2)
The Big Green kept up with the Bulldogs until a 3-0 run by the home team put some distance between the teams, but some well-timed Yale errors and a kill by
Bomi Ogunlari got Dartmouth within one (9-8). Soon after, the Bulldogs took off, capitalizing on a few errors to pull ahead, 17-11.
Piper Stevens and Ogunlari had one more kill apiece before Yale won set one (15-25).

The Bulldogs took control of set two, going on a 5-1 run early on (12-6). An 8-3 Big Green rally made up of kills by
Francesca Meldrum and Ogunlari, an ace by Engstrom and four Yale errors got Dartmouth within one (15-14). The Big Green rallied to take their first lead of the match, ending the set on a 3-0 run from kills by Blain and
Emma Moffet and an ace by Blain to seal the deal (25-22).

Dartmouth kept its momentum going, starting the third on an 8-3 streak highlighted by kills from
Karen Murphy, Moffet and Blain. Yale found its groove soon after, tying the set at 10-10. Five ties later, the Bulldogs ran away with it, ending with two straight kills (20-25).

Yale jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the fifth set before Dartmouth worked its way back into the game, tying it at 14-all following kills by Ogunlari and Meldrum and an ace by Murphy. The home team pulled back ahead, but the Green were only a point or two behind. Errors worked in Dartmouth's favor, but they ran out of time to force an extra set (22-25).
