WELCOME BACK
It has been a long 606 days since we got to watch basketball but, good news: we're back! The Dartmouth women's basketball team will return to the court and open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday when it hosts Rhode Island at 7 p.m. at Leede Arena.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Unlike the Big Green, the Rams had a season last year, although they had an abbreviated one and only played 19 games. URI went 11-8 and made it to the Atlantic-10 Quarterfinal, where it fell to eventual champion VCU in overtime.
LAST TIME VS. THE RAMS
The last time Dartmouth and Rhode Island met was almost four years ago on Nov. 24, 2017. Four players scored in the double digits, being led by Kate Letkewicz '18 and Cy Lippold '18 with 17 points apiece, helping the Big Green win at home, 70-54.
COACHING STAFF
Officially kicking off her first season as the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball is
Adrienne Shibles, who comes to Dartmouth after 13 seasons as head coach at Bowdoin. Since taking over the Bowdoin program prior to the 2008-09 season, she led the squad to a record of 281-67 (.807) and qualified for the NCAA Tournament 11 times, reaching the Sweet Sixteen eight times (including five of the last six seasons) and the Final Four twice.
She is joined behind the bench by assistants
Megan Phelps,
Sarah Assante and
Meredith Mesaris, and Director of Basketball Operations
Lydia Caputi, all of whom are in their first years.
CAPTAINS

As a sophomore in 2019-20, Douglas made 21 starts in 27 games, averaged 7.5 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game. She had a season-high 19 points against Harvard (1/11) and had four games with a career-high five assists.
During her first year in Hanover, Mitchell played in 19 games, played a career-high 17 minutes at Fairfield (11/17) and shot .667 percent from three.
