HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team was ranked 19th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Preseason Division I Coaches Poll announced Monday afternoon.
Â
Another one of the national polls that features the Big Green in the top 20, the IWLCA's release comes on the heels of Dartmouth earning a No. 16 ranking in the US Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll in early January.
Â
The Green and White were 5-0 in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, including wins against No. 13 UMass and No. 5 Florida. The team dominated in victories against Boston University and New Hampshire, plus toppled Brown in an overtime thriller, the only Ivy League game of the spring.
Â
At the time of the stoppage, the team was poised for one of its best seasons in program history with several individuals on pace to shatter records. When it was all said and done, Dartmouth earned three top-10 rankings in the final national polls. The final IWLCA poll had the team ninth, while US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse had the Big Green sixth and seventh, respectively.
