Next on “Big Green Classic” on ESPN+ is a Men’s Hockey Comeback vs. BU

HANOVER, N.H. — "Big Green Classic" — a series of Dartmouth events from the past two years that are being streamed once again on ESPN+ — returns tonight with the men's hockey showdown with Boston University originally played just over a year ago on Jan. 11, 2020. The broadcast will be available on the Worldwide Leader in Sports' platform this evening at 7 p.m.

After winning their own Ledyard Classic at the end of December by defeating Colorado College (5-2) and UConn (4-3), the Big Green started the new year with three straight games on the road. Princeton fell to Dartmouth in an overtime thriller, 4-3, before Quinnipiac dished out a 5-1 defeat and Vermont skated to a 2-2 tie, leaving the Green with a 7-5-2 overall record. Led by sophomore sensation Drew O'Connor, who would go on to be named the Ivy League co-Player of the Year and make his NHL debut just over a week ago with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Dartmouth was aiming to pick up a non-conference victory back on its home ice.

The Terriers, on the other hand, came into the game with a 7-6-5 mark, including an overtime triumph over Brown three days prior. Their roster featured no fewer than a dozen players drafted by NHL teams, including the ninth overall pick in the 2019 draft, Trevor Zegras. David Farrance was BU's leading scorer at the time with 12 goals and 26 points.

This is the 10th of 13 games that will be streamed on the ESPN+ platform this winter. Each of the events are available for viewing for 30 days after it airs with a subscription to the service. The complete schedule of events is listed below.
