Senior Spotlight: Brendan Less

Dartmouthsports.com will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their winter seasons postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today's senior … Brendan Less from Kinnelon, New Jersey, of the men's hockey team.

DartmouthSports.com: What is your favorite place on campus?
Brendan Less: Chi Heorot or Thompson Arena.

DS: If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why?
BL: Collin Rutherford… He drives a Mercedes.

DS: What has been your best on-ice memory thus far in your Dartmouth career?
BL: Beating Denver on the road my freshman year. They were No. 2 in the country and defending national champs. We battled back from down 3-0 in the first period to win the game and everyone was so pumped after that we showcased how good we really could be to a national audience as we played our best game of the season that night. Tim Shoup was always a funny guy, but he was hysterical that night.

DS: How is Hanover different or similar to where you grew up?
BL: The town I grew up in does not have a main street setting with stores and restaurants like Hanover does. So it's more suburban and a lot less of that collegiate town feel that you get in Hanover.

DS: What are your post-Dartmouth plans?
BL: I'm going to use my fifth year at Quinnipiac next year and then hopefully play professional hockey. After that? I'm going to use my Dartmouth education and go into finance.

DS: What is your hidden talent or something that someone might not know about you?
BL: My favorite TV show is Ozark. Jason Bateman was/is magnificent.

DS: Do you have a nickname on your team? Who gave it to you and why?
BL: Less. It's my last name. (Hockey nicknames are really original…)

DS: What are you going to miss most about Dartmouth after you graduate?
BL: Probably the Twitter guy and the boys.
