Dartmouthsports.com will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their spring seasons postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today's senior … Gabrielle McCarthy from Sudbury, Massachusetts, of the women's lacrosse team.

What is your favorite non-sports memory from your time at Dartmouth?
My favorite Dartmouth memory is homecoming freshman year. We wanted to hold the Class of 2021 banner so badly that we got to the river dorms an hour early and we were the first ones outside waiting for the parade to begin. We got the banner and walked the parade until the fire on the Green and it will always be one of my best memories with my class. Â

What is your favorite competition/athletic memory?
My favorite DWL memory is our win against Florida last year. We were so excited for the game and feeling really good leading up to it. I remember so clearly, we had a great warm up and the game started, and everyone was playing their best. I was injured during this game, but the energy was incredible, and the sideline was absolutely electric, and everyone was so invested and excited.  Â

Why did you choose Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because of the strong community. Whenever I spoke to anyone who had attended Dartmouth, they could not speak highly enough about their experience and how connected they still are to the school. Â

How have you been spending your time at home?
I live with all the seniors on the team so luckily, I have had great company.
Â
If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why?
Claire Marshall because she is very artistic, and I love all her projects and would love to live a day with her talents.Â

If you could have played another sport, what would it be and why?
I always wished I tried playing hockey because my dad and brother played but I never wanted to learn to skate.Â

What was your favorite place on campus?
The Green during the spring comes to life and I love spending my afternoons there.Â
Â
What is the best gift you ever received? (small or big, or even a piece of advice, but something that has had a positive effect on your life).

My parents have sent me surprise little gifts in the mail or little valentine's day gifts and those mean the most to me and have made me the happiest.Â

Do you have a hidden talent?
I wish, but sadly no.
