HANOVER, N.H. – Seven members of the Dartmouth heavyweight rowing team were named Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Scholar Athletes for the 2020-21 season.
In order to be named a IRCA Scholar Athlete, the rower or coxswain must have a grade point average above 3.5, be in at least their second year of rowing, and have rowed in one of the program's top-three boats during the current season or raced at the 2021 IRA Championship. All athletes from IRCA member schools are eligible.
Representing 53 teams including - 48 heavyweight and five lightweight - there were 403 rowers and coxswains named to the team.
The Big Green Scholar Athletes are seniors Daniel Kramer and
Paul Gralla, along with juniors
Max Bessler, Richard Santry and Alex Lehr. Rounding out the list are sophomores
Robert Pare and coxswain
Reagan Readinger. The seven athletes were spread across the three varsity boats that won medals at the IRA championship held in May.
