REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Only Brown, whom the Big Green have never lost to, stands between Dartmouth and a second consecutive undefeated regular season, along with a third straight Ivy Championship.
THANK YOU, SENIORS!
Dartmouth will honor seven soon-to-be graduates following the match:
Sophia Haley,
Emily Henrich,
Sophie Ragg,
Ariana Ramsey,
Seven Sassano,
Kristin Bitter and
Lauren Ferridge. As fifth-year seniors, five members of that list have been around for two national championships, including the program's first-ever in 2018. They've done a great job defending Brophy Field as well - the Big Green have only lost two at home since 2018.
LAST YEAR'S NIRA SEMIFINAL
Brown makes its way back to Hanover for the first time since the 2021 NIRA Semifinal, which pit the Ivy League foes up against one another for a spot in the title match at Army West Point. Brown didn't have an answer for the star-studded Big Green that day, succumbing to the likes of
Lilly Durbin and
Kristin Bitter, who combined for six tries.
HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED
Dartmouth met Brown for the first time in 2015. It was only the Big Green's third varsity match and they were able to defeat the Bears in a defensive struggle, 8-5. That still stands as the lowest-scoring match in program history. Fast forward to last week when Dartmouth scored 95 points against Princeton, marking the most points scored by the Big Green in a single match since their sixth-ever meeting with Brown on Sept. 15, 2018.
SCOUTING BROWN
Brown has been able to dominate the lower portion of the NIRA with a 33-0 win over Mount St. Mary's to its credit, along with an 88-0 shellacking of Princeton. The Bears tied Sacred Heart and have lost to Quinnipiac, Army West Point and Harvard. None of those were particularly close, with the closest one being the 17-0 result at Army West Point. Brown's most recent outing was a 45-14 loss at Harvard, which was the Crimson's emphatic response to letting things slip away against Dartmouth a week prior. Four players (Mahdia Parker, Nikki Lynch, Akilah Cathey and Noelle Lewis) have five or more tries on the season while Lewis leads the team with eight. Julia Murray has amassed 17 conversions.
WHAT'S AHEAD
The Big Green will host NIRA Semifinals Saturday, Nov. 12 and should they win that match, they'll compete in the NIRA Championship, which will be held in Hanover.
