WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOOPS
Dartmouth concludes the non-conference slate Wednesday night on the road against defending Atlantic 10 champion UMass.
ALL-TIME VERSUS UMASS
Currently riding a two-game win streak against UMass, Dartmouth is 10-9 in the all-time series, which began in 1981. The Big Green earned a 76-72 victory in the most recent meeting behind Fanni Szabo's 34 points on Dec. 30, 2013. UMass' last win over Dartmouth came on Nov. 28, 2000 (54-46). Dartmouth is 6-4 in its last 10 meetings with UMass.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth was downed by No. 13 Iowa and All-American Caitlin Clark, 92-54, on Wednesday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes quickly pulled away, scoring 34 points in the first quarter, and then held the Big Green to just five points in the second. Dartmouth responded to outscore the defending Big Ten champions, 17-15, in the third quarter.
HARLAND'S HOT SHOOTING
Senior guard
Allie Harland is emerging as a 3-point specialist off the bench for Dartmouth. She has drained at least one from downtown in each of the last six games, including a 3-of-4 performance against No. 13 Iowa as she led the team with a season-high 11 points. Harland is shooting a career-best .353 from deep this season.
MEYER FILLING THE STAT SHEET
Coming off a career-high 10-point performance against UC Irvine, freshman forward
Clare Meyer scored seven points and grabbed a career-high seven boards against No. 13 Iowa, all while dishing out a team-high three assists. Fellow freshman
Olivia Lawlor added nine points for Dartmouth against the Hawkeyes.
SCOUTING UMASS
Only 12 players in the nation have more double-doubles this season than Sam Breen, who leads the Minutewomen in both scoring (18.2 PPG) and rebounding (9.6 RPG). UMass is 9-3 on the season heading into its final non-conference game, coming off a 2021-22 Atlantic 10 championship campaign that ended with a loss to No. 5 seed Notre Dame in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Sydney Taylor is dangerous from the perimeter with 3.18 triples per game, which ranks seventh in the nation, and Angelique Ngalakulondi is among the country's best offensive rebounders with 4.1 per game.
IVY LEAGUE PLAY APPROACHING
Up next for Dartmouth is the Ivy League opener on Sunday, Jan. 1 at Cornell, who the Big Green defeated in overtime, 67-64, on the road last season.
