HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's basketball put pressure on Princeton in a 70-48 loss at Leede Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Victoria Page had a career-high 16 points to go with five rebounds and one assist.
Emma Koch led the Big Green with six caroms, while
Mekkena Boyd was perfect at the free throw line, going 4-4. As a team, the Big Green led in defensive rebounds, 25-22.
Dartmouth (2-20, 0-9) vs. Princeton (17-4, 9-0)

Jimena Abejon basket got scoring started 23 seconds into the first quarter, but the Tigers answered with eight straight points. Dartmouth had a 6-4 advantage over the next two minutes thanks to a pair of treys from Page to make it a four-point game. Koch added a swisher with 2:25 to go, but the last seven points of the quarter went to Princeton (19-10).
A 9-0 Big Green run that was capped by a trey from Abejon tied the game at 19-19, all while keeping the Tigers off the board for almost five minutes. Princeton got some of its edge back by scoring 10 of the final 12 points, but the Green won the quarter 11-10, and the game was still in reach for Dartmouth (29-21). At the half, Page led both teams with 12 points.
The number one team in the league came out hot to start the third on a 10-0 run over the first three minutes, ended by Page's floater. Two good foul shots by Boyd nearing the halfway point of the quarter, and baskets by Abejon and
Doreen Ariik in the final 90 seconds were the last Dartmouth points before the end of the quarter (55-29).
A trey and a layup by
Mia Curtis within 40 seconds gave the Big Green a boost early in the fourth quarter. Koch scored 5 straight and collected 5 boards in the quarter, before classmate
Kaiyah Corona entered the game in the final minute, dressing for the first time in her career. Dartmouth closed out the game strong, winning the fourth with a 19-15 advantage. The Big Green had 23 bench points to Princeton's 15 and outscored the Tigers 20-16 in the paint.
Dartmouth's final road games of the season come all in a row. First up with be a twofer as the Big Green play Cornell and Columbia on Feb. 18-19.
