THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth men's lacrosse will play at home just two more times during the 2022 season. On Saturday, it will host No. 5 Yale at noon.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Despite a five-goal surge in under two minutes late in the fourth quarter, the Big Green couldn't score the equalizer, falling to Stony Brook by a score of 14-13 on Tuesday.
- George Prince led the way with six points from two goals and four helpers, while Matt Paul and Colin McGill both had hat tricks (with McGill's coming in the span of a few minutes in the final quarter).
- Daniel Hincks had 11 saves in the loss.
- Trailing, 13-8, with 4:17 to go, goals by Prince, McGill and Ben DiGiovanni (the first of his career) in 42 seconds got Dartmouth within two.
- Twenty-six seconds later, the Seawolves made it a three-goal game, while McGill scored two more 15 seconds apart to make it a 14-13 game late in the quarter.
- A pair of badly timed Green penalties with 46 seconds to go didn't allow for any more good looks before the game was done.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Way back in early February before the season started, Yale was picked to finish first in the Ivy League, receiving all but one of the 14 first-place votes (decided on by SIDs and various media members associated with the seven Ivy programs). It's still early days, with all teams having either played two or three conference games, and the Bulldogs are tied for second with Cornell and Princeton with their 2-1 marks. Â
Â
Yale's only Ivy loss thus far came against Cornell, a 13-12 loss in Ithaca on March 19. Since then, the Bulldogs have defeated Princeton (14-12), Penn (12-11) and Boston University (22-15).
Â
They're one of three teams to score a man-down goal, are first in saves/game (15.29), second in faceoff percentage (.526) and shots on goal/game (26.86), and third in save percentage (.557). Individually, Yale is first in three categories: goals/game, points/game, ground balls/game

LAST TIME AGAINST YALE
On April 6, 2019, the Big Green started off well but fell behind in the second half, ending the game against the defending national champion and fifth-ranked Bulldogs with a 20-8 loss at Reese Stadium.
Â
Ben Martin led the team with his three goals and one assist for four points, while Harlan Smart had one goal and one helper, and five other players had one point apiece. In net, Hincks played the first 39 minutes, totaling 13 saves before making way for George Christopher, who had a season-high 11 stops in 21 minutes.
Â
LEADING THE WAY
Prince and Paul are tied for team-lead with 19 goals apiece, which is a career-high for Prince and a few shy for Paul, who scored 22 as a sophomore in 2019. Prince is also first among the Big Green in assists (13) and points (32).
Mitchell Myers has grabbed 44 ground balls and is 102-184 (.554) in faceoffs.
