HANOVER, N.H. –Seven Dartmouth lightweight rowers have been honored as Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) Scholar-Athletes for the 2022 season, two of whom were also named to the IRA All-Academic team along with another teammate.
The half dozen are comprised of four seniors and three juniors returning to the water after a COVID-19 disrupted season. The honorees are seniors
Conrad Crans, Dionysios Kotsonis,
Andre Quintiliani and
Cooper Tuckerman, along with juniors
Reagan Readinger,
Jack Stone and
Anthony Wang.
Stone and Tuckerman were joined by junior
Chris Stich as members of the 2022 IRA All-Academic team as well.
In order to be named an IRCA Scholar-Athlete, team members must be in their second year or more of eligibility, and must have either competed in their program's top-three boats during the current season or raced at the 2022 IRA Championship, while also maintaining at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA through the fall semester.
This year there was a 30 percent increase in the number of honorees with 525 rowers and coxswains representing 44 teams.
Stich, Stone and Tuckerman won a bronze medal as part of the varsity four plus cox at the IRA championship this spring.
Tuckerman was also honored with The Big Green Oar, given to the most valuable member of the varsity team. Crans was named the most improved oarsman for the Big Green earlier this spring while Stone was presented with the Louis C. Breer Memorial Bowl, which is awarded to the rower showing the best sportsmanship as a member of the lightweight crew.
