HANOVER, N.H. — Laura Stacey '16 has been selected to represent Canada at the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women's Hockey World Championship, as announced by Hockey Canada.
Stacey has represented Canada on the international stage numerous times and is set to participate in the IIHF Worlds for the fourth time in her career. She was named to the team following an 11-day selection camp in Calgary, Alberta. Stacey is one of 19 players returning from Team Canada's 2021 squad looking to capture back-to-back gold medals for the first time since 2000-01.

As a member of the Big Green, Stacey earned multiple Ivy League and ECAC Hockey honors from 2012-2016. As a freshman, she earned ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team recognition and was a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year award following the 2012-13 season.
In her senior season, Stacey was named a First-Team All-Ivy League selection. She captained the Big Green and led her squad offensively, finishing 2015-16 with 23 points. The Third-Team All-ECAC Hockey selection was named the team's most valuable player and offensive most valuable player following the season.
The Mississauga, Ontario native is a two-time Olympian and won a gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games. Stacey recorded four goals and a pair of assists during Team Canada's run to gold. She and 17 Olympians join Team Canada for the World Championship in Denmark.
In her first three appearances at the IIHF World Championship, Stacey won a silver medal at the 2017 games in Finland, a bronze medal in 2019 and claimed gold at the 2021 competition in Calgary.
The 2022 IIHF World Championship is set to take place from August 24 through September 4 in Herning and Frederikshavn, Denmark.
