HANOVER, N.H. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) today announced its Academic All-District team for women's soccer and six Dartmouth student-athletes were recognized. Seniors
Grace Faulkner,
Carly Retterer and
Taylor Williams, junior
Danielle Burke and sophomores
Audrey Marin and
Hailey Rorick receive the honor.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have participated in 90% of the team's games played or must start in at least 66% of the contests, have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), and reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Faulkner, a two-year captain of the Big Green, earns her second academic honor this season after being named Academic All-Ivy just a few weeks ago. She played all but four minutes this year, helping the Big Green to seven shutout wins. Faulkner is majoring in qualitative social science.
Retterer played in all 15 games this year, making 13 starts and finishing with two goals and two assists. She tallied one goal and one assist in the 2-2 season-opening draw against Eastern Michigan. She later scored the game-winning goal in the Big Green's first home win, a 1-0 victory over Colgate.
Williams, an All-Ivy second team honoree this season, was a mainstay in the Dartmouth defense this season, playing all but 20 minutes over the course of the 15-game season. She tallied one assist, coming in the 1-1 tie at Boston College. Williams played a key role for the Big Green as they earned seven shutouts this year.
Burke appeared in all 15 games for Dartmouth with 12 starts. She scored the Big Green's lone goal in the 1-1 tie at Boston College in early September before registering a one goal, one assist performance in the 4-0 victory over Iona.
In her second season with the Big Green, Marin played in all 15 games, making two starts. She tallied two goals and two assists on the year. Her first point of the season came in the 1-0 victory over Merrimack. Marin later scored in back-to-back games, against Iona and UMass Lowell.
Rorick started all 15 games for the Big Green, finishing with one goal and two assists while logging just over 1100 minutes. Her first career goal came in the 1-0 victory over Cornell at the end of September. She also assisted in Dartmouth's 1-1 draw against Columbia.
