COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey today announced the roster for the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship, and former Dartmouth men's hockey standout Drew O'Connor '22 was among the selections.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in Finland and Latvia from May 12 – May 28. Team USA will play seven games in Group A, looking to earn a spot in the quarterfinal round.
O'Connor just wrapped up his third season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, having played in 46 games this season, finishing with five goals and six assists for 11 points. In 78 career games with the Penguins, O'Connor has recorded 17 points (8-9-17).
The 16th former Dartmouth men's hockey player to play in a National Hockey League (NHL) game, O'Connor was a two-year standout with the Green and White. He became the first Dartmouth player to lead ECAC Hockey in goals after scoring 21 as a sophomore in 2019-20, and was tabbed the Ivy League Co-Player of the Year, a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection, and earned a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey First Team.
