The member of the Class of 2013 serves as the Golden Knights' Director of Hockey Analytics
LAS VEGAS — Former Dartmouth men's hockey standout Dustin Walsh '13 helped the Vegas Golden Knights claim their first Stanley Cup on Tuesday night as a member of the team's front office.
Walsh serves as the team's director of hockey analytics. He has worked in Vegas' analytics department for the last several seasons, helping the team to three appearances in the Western Conference Final and the Stanley Cup in 2023.
A 2009 Montreal Canadiens NHL Entry Draft choice, Walsh was selected in the sixth round with the 169th overall pick. He came to Dartmouth the following season and scored eight goals as a rookie, the most by any freshman and the third-best mark of any player on the Big Green in 2009-10.
During his four years at Dartmouth, Walsh played in 93 games, recording 62 points (32-30-62), including a career-best 22 (11-11-22)Â as a senior in 2012-13. An injury cut short his junior season, limiting Walsh to just eight games.
At Dartmouth, Dustin played three seasons alongside his brother Nick Walsh '12, a veteran of 110 games in the Green and White himself.
Walsh becomes the first former Dartmouth player to capture the Stanley Cup since Ben Lovejoy '06 won as a player with Pittsburgh in 2016.
