HANOVER, N.H. —
The Duke men's basketball program announced its nonconference schedule on Tuesday, and it begins with a showdown against Dartmouth on Monday, Nov. 6 inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. It will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs, and the second time in three years that the Big Green open the season against an ACC opponent (falling at Boston College on Nov. 9, 2021).
Duke is one of the early favorites to compete for a national championship in 2023-24, standing No. 2 in
ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25. Last season, the Blue Devils finished 27-9 and 14-6 in the ACC. Duke advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Tennessee. The Blue Devils finished 16-0 at home in 2022-23.
After plenty of highlight moments during the Ivy League schedule, Dartmouth returns four of its top five scorers and nine of its top 11. Despite losing All-Ivy League center
Dame Adelekun to graduation, the Big Green return
Ryan Cornish and
Dusan Neskovic, who averaged 12.5 and 12.2 points per game, respectively, last season, along with a number of key members of the Big Green's rotation.
