HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team has been picked to finish seventh in the 2023 Ivy League preseason poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
Brown, the defending league champion, was selected as the favorite, earning 12 out of 16 first-place votes and 123 total points. Harvard earned three first-place votes and was tabbed second. Yale collected the remaining first-place vote and was selected third.
Princeton was picked to finish fourth followed by Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn.
This season sees the re-introduction of the Ivy League women's soccer tournament for the first time since 1981. The top four teams in the standings will battle during the first weekend of November for the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The Big Green open their season on Friday, Aug. 25, against Eastern Michigan at Burnham Field. Ivy League play for Dartmouth begins on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Yale.
