HANOVER, N.H. – Senior defender
Taylor Williams was named to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) NCAA Division I All-New England Third Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Â
This is the third accolade that Williams has earned for her performance this season after having been named to the All-Ivy Second Team as well as the CSC Academic All-District team.
Â
Williams was a mainstay in the back line for the Big Green this year, playing all but 20 minutes over the course of the 15-game season. She tallied one assist, coming in the 1-1 tie at Boston College. Williams played a key role as the Big Green went on to record seven clean sheets in 2023.
Â
"The 2023 NEWISA All-New England Team highlights the best student-athletes from colleges and universities in the region," said NEWISA President Tom McGuinness. "These players represent many of the most talented collegiate players in the country. They have pushed their teams to success on the field and we are proud to recognize them for all they have achieved. NEWISA congratulates all these players for a tremendous season."
Â
The 2023 NEWISA All-New England Team was chosen following a nomination and voting process. Each team contains four forwards, four center midfielders, four defenders and one goalkeeper.
