COLCHESTER, Vt. – After a weekend off, Dartmouth returned to EISA competition, heading to Vermont for the St. Michael's Carnival. At the end of Day 1, the Big Green sit in first place, ahead of second place UVM by 74.5 points.
The Nordic men placed first as a team, earning 130 points. The Nordic women earned second, posting 104 points. On the giant slalom, the alpine men also won the day (109 points), while the women finished fourth as a team.
In Friday's 10K Skate,
John Steel Hagenbuch led the way for the Big Green, finishing first overall with a 23:04.3. Also finishing on the podium in second place was
Luke Allan, posting a 24:29.8.
Asa Chalmers was the next Dartmouth finisher, posting a 25:32.2, good for eighth place. Just behind was
Aidan Jacobus in 11
th (25:48.6),
Cooper Camp in 13
th (25:56.3),
Dustin Hay in 17
th (26:03.3), and
Aaron Power rounding out the top 20 (26:14.3).
Wally Magill (26:31.5) and
Jack Lange (27:00.3) rounded out the Dartmouth finishers.
Ava Thurston led the way on the women's side, finishing just shy of the podium in fourth place with a 28:42.7.
Amelia Tucker was right behind, finishing in sixth with a 29:13.6.
Tatum Witter (29:42.8) and
Evie Walton (29:47.6) finished back-to-back in 15
th and 16
th, followed by
Emma Reeder (30:00.3) in 19
th.
Anja Grover (30:40.5),
Grace Zanni (32:05.3),
Virginia Cobb (32:52.1) and
Hannah Chipman (32:59.00) also finished for the Big Green.
On the Giant Slalom at Smugglers Notch, the Big Green were led by
Oscar Zimmer and
Benny Brown, both of which finished just shy of the podium. Zimmer finished fourth overall, posting a 1:49.6 while Brown came in fifth, finishing in 1:49.68.
Heming Sola and
Dan Gillis finished back-to-back, posting a 1:50.14 and a 1:50.19, good for 11
th and 12
th respectively.
Calum Langmuir (1:50.69),
Philip Lundquist (1:52.2), and
Louis Latulippe (1:52.42) also finished for the Big Green.
Last but not least, the women's alpine skiers were led by
Zoe Zimmermann, finishing ninth overall with a 1:52.84.
Allie Resnick (1:52.99, tenth) and
Carly Elsinger (1:53.4, 15
th), also finished in the top 20 for the Big Green.
Noemié Longchamps (1:54.44),
Izzy Washburn (1:54.64),
Alexa Elliff (1:56.10), and
Emma Resnick (1:56.46) also finished for the Big Green. This was Elliff's first race of the 2025 season.
Dartmouth will return to action for the second day of the St. Michael's Carnival Saturday, as Nordic skiers will race the 3x5K relay and alpine skiers will take on the Slalom.
The Big Green will look to win their third EISA Carnival in a row, before returning home to host the Dartmouth Carnival next weekend.
