NEW YORK — The Dartmouth women's basketball team scored six of the first eight second-quarter points to pull within eight, but Columbia went on to open an 18-point lead, then used a dominant third quarter to erase any doubt, as the Lions were victorious 89-37 on Friday evening.
The win improved Columbia's Ivy League record to 9-0 and was the Lions' 20th win in a row at home dating back to last season.
Alexandra Eldredge scored 11 first-half points for the Big Green and finished with 13 to tie her Dartmouth career high.
Victoria Page added eight points.
Rebounds proved critical, with Columbia holding a 60-22 edge, including 34 offensive boards which led to 85 field goal attempts (compared to the Big Green's 47).

FIRST QUARTER:
- A tight start saw neither team lead by more than five until almost halfway through the first quarter.
- Eldredge scored Dartmouth's first four points of the evening, with a Page jumper getting the Big Green within 8-6 with 6:42 on the clock.
- A Clare Meyer layup pulled Dartmouth within 11-8, but the Lions answered with a 12-0 run.
- Eldredge's third field goal of the first quarter made the score 25-12 after 10 minutes of play.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Dartmouth began the second quarter with a 6-2 surge (8-2 spanning the end of the first quarter). Baskets came from three different Big Green players — Cate MacDonald, Meyer and Page — to make the score 27-19 with 7:07 left in the second.
- Not long after, an Eldredge jumper got Dartmouth within 30-21.
- However, Columbia immediately staged a 14-1 run.
- Field goals from Eldredge and Page over the final 1:03 pulled Dartmouth within 44-26 at the half.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Columbia controlled the third, with Dartmouth's only point coming behind an Olivia Austin free throw.
- The Lions finished with a 24-1 edge to take a 68-27 lead into the fourth.
- Dartmouth turned the ball over nine times in the quarter, which led to 14 Columbia points off turnovers.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Lucija Banovic came in off the bench to knock down a field goal with 6:39 on the clock, marking the Big Green's first field goal of the half.
- Less than three minutes later, Eldredge connected on a reverse layup to give her 13 points.
- A Tahira Muhammad layup rounded out the game's scoring.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Eldredge finished 6-of-11 from the floor.
- Page added four rebounds and two assists.
- As a team, Dartmouth shot 34.0% from the floor (16-of-47), including 42.4% from 3-point range (36-of-85).
