DANBURY, Conn.—ECAC Hockey announced its players of the month for January on Wednesday. Dartmouth defensemen CJ Foley has been named ECAC Ironhead Defender of the Month.
Foley suited up in all eight games for the Big Green in January while tallying eight points. He opened the month with a goal against Merrimack on Jan. 5. He notched his second goal of the month against Brown while having a +3 rating. He ended the month on a four-game point streak while having six points over those four games. He finished the month with four goals, four assists, a +5 rating, and 12 blocked shots.
Foley led ECAC defensemen in points in the month of January while also have the most goals among defensemen. He also tied for third in the conference in points per game.
The Hanover, Mass native has 22 points in 22 games this season which leads all ECAC defensemen. He is ninth in the ECAC in points despite playing four less games than the rest of the top 10. His eight goals also leads all defensemen. The sophomore has an ECAC best +17 rating this season.
Foley is the fourth member of the Big Green to earn an ECAC monthly award this season.
Dartmouth returns to Thompson Arena on Friday, Feb. 7 as Harvard travels to Hanover to close out the season series. The Big Green currently sit tied for third in the ECAC while having a share of the Ivy League lead.
