PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth men's basketball coaching staff has been named the 2024-25 Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year. Led by Head Coach
David McLaughlin, the team has seen significant improvement from previous years and punched their ticket to their first Ivy Madness appearance in program history.
Â
In addition to Coaching Staff of the Year,
Ryan Cornish has been selected as First Team All-Ivy and
Brandon Mitchell-Day has been named Second Team All-Ivy. The last time a duo earned First and Second team honors was in the 1998-99 season when Shaun Gee '00 was named first team and Greg Buth '01 was named second team.
Jackson Munro garnered Academic All-Ivy for his performance both in the classroom and on the court.
Â
McLaughlin and his staff have led the Big Green to their first Ivy Madness appearance and proven improvement solely based off record alone. The team went from winning six games in the 2023-24 season to winning 14 in the 2024-25 regular season while matching their six wins from the previous season in the non-conference slate alone. The regular season .519 overall win percentage and .571 conference win percentage marks the first time the program has finished above .500 in its overall record and league record since the 1999 season.
Â

Mitchell-Day had an outstanding regular season highlighted by a historic game against Brown on January 25. The junior had a 20-20 double double with 23 points and a career high 20 rebounds. At the time, Mitchell-Day was the first Ivy League player to post a 20-20 double-double since January of 2012 (Greg Mangano of Yale against St. Joseph's of Long Island). He was also the first Dartmouth and Ivy League player to post a 20-20 double-double against a Division I opponent since the turn of the century. He averages 13.3 points per game with 7.6 rebounds per game. He has accumulated 73 assists and has an 81.6% free throw percentage. Mitchell-Day leads the team and the Ivy League in rebounding.
