CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Dartmouth took to the field for one more game against the No. 10 Virginia Cavaliers Sunday before over a week with no games.

Despite taking a lead in the first inning, the Cavaliers stormed back, going on to defeat the Big Green, 13-3.

Dartmouth got on the board early, opening a two-run lead in the first inning. The Big Green drew back-to-back walks to start the inning, followed by a
Jackson Hower single to load the bases.

With only one out,
A.J. DeMastrie singled down the left field line to score
Taer Rodriguez and
Elliot Krewson, putting the Big Green up 2-0.

The Cavaliers were able to cut the Big Green's lead in half in the second inning with an RBI double. Virginia's offense exploded in the third, plating four runs to take a 5-2 lead over the Big Green.

Both teams went in order in the fourth inning, before the Cavaliers added three more runs in the fifth to open a six-run lead.

Dartmouth was able to get a run back in the sixth inning where DeMastrie would collect his third RBI of the day, grounding out to score Krewson who led off the inning with a single.

The Cavaliers plated five more runs over the next two innings to defeat the Big Green, 13-3.

Nate Isler made his second start of the season on the mound for the Big Green, throwing 4.2 innings.

Joseph Chambers pitched the next two innings for the Big Green in relief, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits.

Kyle Klaric-Schell and
Mac Burke combined for the final one inning of relief for the Big Green, giving up three runs on three hits.

The Big Green will have 11 days off before heading on the road for five straight games. Dartmouth will begin the trip with a three-game series at the College of Charleston before playing single games at Navy and Seton Hall.
