DANBURY, Conn. – On Thursday, ECAC Hockey announced its monthly awards, recognizing
Hailey Maguire as the league's Defender of the Month. This is Maguire's first league award.
Maguire played in each of Dartmouth's four games in the month of December, having stand out performances against both Saint Michael's and Saint Anselm.
Against the Purple Knights, Maguire tallied her first career point just over five minutes into the game. Her shot on the rush was blocked, but she found a way to get the puck to
Ella Inglis who buried it to give the Big Green a 1-0 lead.
To start the first period, she scored her first goal in Big Green, helping Dartmouth to a 10-0 victory over Saint Michael's.
The following day, Maguire added to her point total, adding an assist on the Big Green's final goal of the game as Dartmouth skated to a 4-2 victory over the Hawks.
Dartmouth is back in ECAC Hockey action this weekend, welcoming the Yale Bulldogs and Brown Bears to Thompson Arena. Puck drop on both Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 is scheduled for 3 p.m.
