GLOUCESTER, Mass.-- The Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) has announced the semifinalists for this year's Mike Richter Award, given annually to the top goalie in men's NCAA Division I hockey since 2014. Dartmouth netminder Emmett Croteau has been named one of 10 semifinalists.
The Bonnyville, Alta. native is having a standout junior season for the Big Green. In 14 games this season he has a 1.71 goals against average and a .930 save percentage along with a 10-3-1 record. He is third in Division I in goals against average and second in the ECAC. His save percentage puts him atop the ECAC and seventh in the country. On Nov. 29, 2025 he recorded his second career shutout in a 1-0 win over Merrimack, he made 24 saves in the win.
Through three seasons of college hockey, he has appeared in 38 games and has a 2.15 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. He ranks fourth in the ECAC among active ECAC goalies in goals against average and seventh in save percentage.
On Dec. 4, 2025 he was named the HCA National Goalie of the Month as he went 4-0-0 with a 0.75 goals against and a .970 save percentage across four games. He was also named ECAC Goalie of the Month in November and has been ECAC MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week twice this season.
The semifinalist were chosen by a panel of 25 voters from across the hockey community. The group includes coaches from each conference, and independent school coaches, as well as members of the national media, professional scouts and representatives of USA Hockey. Finalists will be announced in early March and the winner of this year's Mike Richter Award will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four in Las Vegas.
No. 12/13 Dartmouth is back in action this weekend with a pair of ECAC and Ivy League games. The Big Green take on Yale on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 PM before traveling to Brown on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 PM.
