SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Dartmouth baseball traveled to Rhode Island Wednesday, taking on the Bryant Bulldogs in one final game ahead of the Ivy League Opener. The Big Green held a two-run lead over the Bulldogs at one point, but a three-run fourth inning and a four-run sixth inning powered Bryant to a 10-6 win over Dartmouth.

It did not take long for Dartmouth to respond, as it tallied three runs in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Jack Espiritu-Niswonger reached first on an error to open the inning before advancing to second on a wild pitch. A fly out advanced him to third base before
Taer Rodriguez put a ground ball in play. The Bulldogs tried to get Espiritu-Niswonger at home, but were unable to get the out, as the Big Green tied the game at one.
Only two pitches later, Nico Bañez was hit by the pitch, putting two runners on. A ground out put both runners in scoring position, for

Bryant exploded for another multi-run inning in the sixth. The Bulldogs took three free passes, two walks and a hit by pitch, and recorded one hit, scoring four runs to open a four-run lead over Dartmouth.

The Bulldogs would add runs in both the seventh and the eighth, reextending their lead to four headed into the ninth inning.
Dartmouth pressured to start the ninth, as Bañez was hit by yet another pitch. He and Puig swapped places on a fielder's choice before Suarez was hit to put two runners on with one out. The Big Green forced a pitching change, but the Bulldogs were able to record the next two outs on only six pitches, securing the 10-6 victory over Dartmouth.

Aidan Plummer wrapped the game, pitching the final two innings of relief. He gave up two runs, one earned, on four hits. He also struck out one and walked one.
The Big Green will now shift their focus to Ivy League play, as they travel to Penn for their first conference matchup of the 2026 campaign. Dartmouth took two of the three from the Quakers last year in Hanover, dropping the series finale played at a neutral site.
The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 before wrapping the regular season series with a single game on Sunday, March 22 at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ or you can follow the live stats on DartmouthSports.com.
