First true two-way player at Dartmouth in over 20 years … named to the All-Ivy League First Team as a utility player and the second team as a starting pitcher … also chosen as the team MVP … earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Team … led the Ivy League with 20 doubles and ranked third nationally in doubles per game (though two of the 40 games he played in were only as a pitcher) … sixth in the Ancient Eight with a .352 batting average, fifth with a 1.002 OPS and seventh with a .586 slugging percentage … produced 17 multi-hit games … was a perfect 4-0 on the mound in conference play … swatted a pair of doubles and scored a run in his first trips to the plate of the season, helping the Big Green defeat Louisville, 6-4 … went 3-for-3 with three doubles, four runs and three RBIs in a blowout win over Bowdoin … scored three more times and tossed seven shutout innings with a career-high 10 strikeouts as Dartmouth took the finale and clinched the series with Brown in a 14-1 win, earning recognition as the DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week … doubled and blasted his first long ball in a 14-4 romp at Yale … clinched another series on the mound with a season-high 7.2 innings of work in an 11-4 victory over the Bulldogs … ripped three more two-baggers and drove in three runs as Dartmouth downed Albany on the road, 12-5 … earned his third win in a six-inning start against Princeton while collecting a career-high four hits in a perfect day at the plate with three-run homer, two walks (one intentional), three runs scored and four RBIs in the 16-7 rout to complete the sweep of the Tigers … reached base five times by going 3-for-4 with two more doubles, a walk and a hit by pitch to help lift the Green to a 10-8 win in the finale at Cornell to once again clinch the series … provided the lone run against Holy Cross with a solo blast in the 3-1 defeat … opened the series at Harvard by delivering a clutch two-run bomb in the ninth to provide the winning margin of the 8-6 triumph, going 3-for-5 with a single, double and four-bagger while matching a career high with four RBIs … did double-duty in the final game against the. Crimson, hurling six innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts and contributing a single, double, walk, two runs and an RBI on a sacrifice fly to the 15-2 blowout … that concluded an eight-game hitting streak during which he hit .514 (18-for-35) with five doubles, three homers and 14 RBIs … legged out his lone career triple in a 3-2 loss to Manhattan … drove in four runs — at least one in each game — in the season-ending series against eventual Ivy champion Columbia to help Dartmouth win the series.

Led the Big Green with 13.0 innings and eight strikeouts on the mound while also hitting .238 with three doubles to tie for the team lead before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic … hit safely in each of the first three games with a pair of doubles and two walks … went 1-for-3 with two free passes, a run and an RBI to help Dartmouth earn its first victory of the year, 6-2 over Chicago State at the Snowbird Classic … pitched the Green to its other victory, twirling seven shutout stanzas on just three hits and two walks while striking out six to beat Omaha, 8-1 … named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for his performance … had a single double and scored a run in the second of three games at Virginia … provided a quality start in what turned out to be the season finale, holding the Cavaliers to two earned runs over six frames without issuing a walk and fanning a pair in a tough 4-3 defeat.
FRESHMAN (2019) | Game-by-Game Stats
Named the team Rookie of the Year … led the Big Green staff in ERA and strikeouts, and surrendered just three long balls over 54.2 innings … second in the Ivy League in fewest walks issued per nine innings (1.81) … made collegiate debut at UTSA, getting the starting nod on the mound in the second game of the season … did not walk a batter in his four frames of the first game of the doubleheader … scored a run as a pinch runner in the nightcap … season-high six strikeouts came in lone relief outing, allowing two unearned runs over four innings in the 4-3, 10-inning triumph over Fairleigh Dickinson … held USF to one run in 6.1 innings on five hits with five punchouts, but did not get a decision in the 7-3 loss … made first start in the lineup as the designated hitter against Bradley, collecting his first collegiate hit in two at-bats with two walks and two runs in the 6-2 victory … Dartmouth won three of his first four Ivy League starts with him getting the W in two of those contests … handcuffed Columbia for six stanzas, yielding one run on six hits without a walk while fanning three in a 23-1 blowout win … gave up just four hits and two runs over seven innings in a 7-5 victory at Brown, earning Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for his effort … struck out five over a season-high 7.1 stanzas in his final start, surrendering only two runs on eight hits without a walk, but was stuck with the loss in the 2-1 decision against Cornell.

Four-year letter winner at Providence Day School for coach Jim Cerbie ... integral part of the 2016 squad that won the Charlotte Independent School Athletic Association conference championship with a 26-7 record … named all-state and the conference’s Most Outstanding Player after hitting .479 with nine homers 33 runs and 25 RBIs while stealing 16 bases, plus posted a 6-1 record with a 1.01 ERA, striking out 81 batters and walking only nine … three-time all-conference performer … also played basketball as a freshman … National Honor Society … Headmasters List all four years.

Full name is Justin Bain Murray … son of Darrell and Sarah Murray has one sister ... born May 3, 1999 in Charlotte, North Carolina ... enjoys helping youths, traveling and the beach … played as a graduate transfer at the University of Houston in 2023, earning All-America honors from the NCBWA and Newcomer of the Year from the American Athletic Conference after leading the team in batting (.379), hits (83) and RBIs (58) while hitting 11 homers and stealing 20 bases, not to mention posting a 5-0 record and 3.07 ERA with a team-high 10 saves on the mound over 25 appearances and 41.0 innings, striking out 49.
