2019-20 (Sophomore):
Became the fourth player in Dartmouth history to be named the Ivy League Player of the Year (3.4), sharing the 2019-20 honor with Cornell’s Matthew Galajda...Unanimously named to the All-Ivy League First Team (3.4)... Became the first Dartmouth player in 12 years to earn a spot on the All-ECAC Hockey First Team... Finished the season with 21 goals, becoming the first Dartmouth player ever to lead all ECAC Hockey players in goals over the course of an entire season... His 16 goals in ECAC Hockey games were the most of any player in the league, marking the first time a Dartmouth player had led the league in conference goals since Ross Brownridge in 1979-80... Led Dartmouth in goals (21), points (33), PPG (7), PP points (10), penalty minutes (42), SHG (1), hat tricks (1), shots on goals (147) and SOG per game (4.74) Signed an NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins at the conclusion of the season... Finished the year with a team-leading 33 points (21-12-33), good for fifth in the league... His 0.68 goals per game ranked fourth in the nation... The 21 goals were fifth in the nation, while the first 20-goal season by a Dartmouth player since Scott Fleming in 2009-10...Had an assist at Harvard (11.1)...Dished out a pair of assists against Princeton (11.9)...Had a goal and two assists at Yale (11.5), including assisting on game winner in the final minutes...Scored twice, including the GWG, and assisted on another to match his career high with three points against Brown (11.16)...Was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week (11.18) for the first time in his career...Was tabbed as the NCAA’s First Star of the Week (11.19) for leading the nation in scoring over the course of the week (3-3-6)... 2018-19 (Freshman):
Earned a spot on the All-Ivy League Second Team, the only rookie in the conference on either Ivy team... Led the league in goals by a rookie (17)... Second in the nation in rookie goals... His 17 goals were the third-most ever by a Dartmouth rookie (Hugh Jessiman, 23 and Nick Johnson, 18)... Finished the regular season as the team's leading scorer (13-9-22)... Finished the year second on the team in scoring (17-9-26)... Led the team in goals (17)... Named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week three times, most of any player in the conference in 2018-19...Opened his collegiate career with a three-point game (1-2-3) against Harvard on Oct. 27, including a second-period breakaway goal...Was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week on Oct. 29 for his season-opening performance against the Crimson...Scored the opening goal in a 5-1 win against Quinnipiac (11.3)...Posted a two-goal game — the first of his career — against Vermont on Nov. 24...In the Ledyard Classic, he scored his 6th of the season against Army (12.29) and had an assist against No. 10 Providence (12.30)...Had a goal and an assist at Bentley (1.5), The goal was his first away from Thompson Arena...In a return to his home state, O'Connor scored a power-play goal and had an assist at Princeton (1.12)...Posted an assist against St. Lawrence (1.25)...Scored the tying goal vs. RPI (2.8) with just 1:04 remaining in regulation...Scored the game-winning goal with 32.9 seconds left at No. 11 Clarkson (2.15) in a 1-0 victory...Picked up an assist on Brendan Less' first career vs. Yale (2.22)..Scored with 1:18 remaining in regulation as part of a comeback bid at Union (3.1), while also picking up an assist...Had two goals in less than three minutes at RPI (3.2)...Named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week (3.4)...Had a goal in each of the three games against SLU in the first round of the playoffs...Earned his third ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week honors (3.11)...Scored in Game 2 of the quarterfinals at Harvard (3.16)...
Before Dartmouth
Graduated from and played two years for the Delbarton School... While attending the prestigious private school, he also played two seasons for the North Jersey Avalanche U18... As a first-year member of the Avalanche, his team won the T1EHL Championship and in both seasons with the Avs, earned a berth in the USA Hockey Nationals... Competed for the Boston Jr. Bruins NCDC team alongside classmate Harrison Markell... Grew up playing with Brendan Less ’21... Selected to play in the NCDC All-Star Game.
