Men's Lightweight Rowing
at Cornell
Q&A with Nathan Potter
Why Dartmouth?
I was looking for a school that had good academics, but where people had fun and were sociable too. I visited Harvard, and when I was walking around no one made eye contact with me or said hi. But when I came to Dartmouth, as I was walking around a student asked me if I was a prospie and offered to give me a tour.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I've been rowing since my freshman year at Dartmouth- the crew team picked me out of the computer line, said "You're tall, think about rowing." I went to the intro BBQ, got tricked into going to the first practice, and haven't looked back.
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
Nope
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
One of my life goals is to write a novel.
What other activities do you participate in on campus?
I am a UGA, I'm in MEDLIFE, am a brother at SigEp, and I do physiology research with one a bio professor.
What are your future plans, if any.
I want to go to med school after taking a year off, maybe get an MD/ MPH, and hopefully work to set up a medical aid program in the Andean region of
South America.
