Men's Lightweight Rowing
at Cornell
Q and A with Joseph
Why Dartmouth?
I came to Dartmouth for a variety of reasons, including 1) the strong Christian community, 2) the possibility of a liberal arts education, 3) the friendly atmosphere, and 4) because of a few specific amazing upperclassmen that I met upon visiting.
How long have you been rowing and what got you interested in rowing?
I have been rowing for one year now (one school year), and I became interested on a whim. I literally have no clue how I got on this team; I accidentally ended up coming to the open house with a friend, started attending practices, and then never left...
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I juggle quite well, and was rather disappointed to find that there was no juggling group on campus (that I found). When I have time (which will never happen) I am going to start a juggling club.
What other activities do you participate in on campus?
I teach Thursday Night Salsa classes, and am currently serving as an officer in Christian Impact, the Dartmouth chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ. I dabbled in Bboying in the fall, attend Voxmasters and AHA when i can, and am heavily involved in planning a new grassroots student initiative group.
What are your future plans, if any?
Complete my engineering degree (B.E.) in four years if at all possible, help bring Christ to the campus, and then continue on to work with nuclear power (unless the job market is damaged due to the Japanese nuclear fiasco).
