Bio
Irving was one of the Green’s top recruits when as a senior in high school he won the New England high school title and he lived up to expectations immediately as the team’s top discus thrower ... scored in the Heps discus and qualified for the IC4A championships as well ... quickly picked up two new events, the Weight and the Hammer, and showed tremendous potential in each ... one of the more physically imposing athletes at Dartmouth at 6-8 and 260.

Q & A with David
Why did you choose Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because of the people. I could not find another place with so many accomplished yet down-to-earth students who excelled in both academics and athletics.
How long have you been competing in track and what got you interested?
I participated in "fun runs" from a very early age. As it became apparent that I was not built to run, I started throwing in the 6th grade. My dad got me interested in track. His father and uncles were elite cross-country runners in their high school days and my dad was an accomplished track athlete in high school and college (Captain and discus record holder at the University of New Hampshire).
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
Growing up, I always wanted to be a cross country runner.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan to go to seminary and enter full time pastoral ministry in the Christian Church.
What extra curricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Captain)
