Dana Mecke joined the cross country and track & field staff as a volunteer assistant coach in September 2022.
Mecke recently competed as a USA Track and Field athlete for the last decade. During her time with USATF, Mecke was a two-time Olympic Trials quarterfinalist in the women’s 800 meter race (2016, 2021). She represented Team USA in the women’s 800 meter race as they won first place at the 2015 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Senior Track and Field Championships.
Mecke is currently enrolled in the Tuck School, has a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio and works as a research and product development engineer at Metric Medical Devices, Inc.
