No. 4 Dartmouth Women's Lacrosse Falls to No. 2 Duke, 12-8, in Regular Season Finale

DURHAM, N.C. - Despite three goals apiece from senior

Kristen Barry, the No. 4 Dartmouth women's lacrosse team could not come back from an 8-2 halftime deficit and fell to No. 2 Duke, 12-8, on Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium. The Big Green falls to 14-2 on the season while the Blue Devils improve to 15-3.
Duke opened the game by scoring six goals, including three from Leigh Jester, in the first 10 minutes of action. Christian (Agawam, Mass.) put the Big Green on the board for the first time with an unassisted goal, but Stefanie Sparks fired back to give Duke a 7-1 advantage. Sophomore
Whitney Douthett (Newtown, Pa.) scored on a free position shot before Jester closed out the half with her fourth goal to send the teams into the locker room with an 8-2 score.
After Duke opened the second period with a goal, Dartmouth mounted a strong comeback and scored four of the next five to bring the score to 10-6 with 16:16 to play. Duke's Kristen Waagbo scored a free position goal to stretch the margin back to five, but Barry (Duxbury, Mass.) brought it back to within four with 9:49 left. Duke tacked on another goal before Christian netted an unassisted tally with 1:27 to play to close out scoring for both teams.

Devon Wills (Denver, Colo.) made six saves, while Duke's Megan Huether stopped 13 shots.
